Anna Zgambo, a licensed arts promoter, organizes initiatives to support Zambian literature. She has organized book exhibitions, writing workshops, poetry labs, literary conferences, and numerous webinars for creatives. These initiatives include partnerships with 500+ Zambian writers, collaborations with 20+ local publishers, and engagements with 10+ literary institutions. 


Committed to partnering with all players in the literary sector, she is an active member of Zambia Women Writers Association, the Zambian Reprographic Rights Society, the National Writers Association of Zambia, the Authorship and Career Network, and Pen Zambia. She has held literary programmes in partnership with Zambia Book Club, Samfya Book Club, Southern Writers Bureau, Sotrane Publishers, the Livingstone Office for Contemporary Art, Kalulu Kreativez, Kuchalo.com, the University of Zambia’s Literary Studies Department, Open Window University’s Literary Arts Department, and the Platinum Authors Conference.


She served as the poetry judge of the Coppa Book Awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025. She judges Kuchalo’s Poetry Competitions. She is now supervising the PAWA Poetry Competition as a Welfare Officer for Young Writers with the Pan-African Writers Association of Ghana. Internationally, she serves on the awards committee of the Black Women’s Studies Association. 


Anna Zgambo is pursuing a PhD in Literature at the University of Zambia with a focus on lyric poetry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English studies from the University of Pretoria, a TEVETA Certificate in Creative Writing from Open Window University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Lecturing from the University of Lusaka, and a Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Zambia. 


Zambia Educational Publishing House published her first poetry collection, Read Prose Poetry. Her latest poetry collection, Peruse Every Poem, won a Canon contract from the United Nations SDG Book Club. She is a Mawazo Fellow, Idembeka Creative Writing Fellow, and a reader at CRAFT Literary. Her most recent poems appear in Ubwali Literary Magazine, The Journal of African Youth Literature, Up the Staircase Quarterly, The Weganda Review, Midway Journal, Bluestem Magazine, and elsewhere.
